Welcome

 

Dear partners and friends, I wish you are blessed Christmas and New Year from the Trobriand Islands, Papua New Guinea. I have been living in a subsistence village on the island of Kitava without modern conveniences and the experience made me think what it may have been like in the Garden of Eden, so peaceful, beautiful and rich in its simplicity. This month I have included a brief profile of a living, local, PNG apostle and trust it will be interesting reading for you.

 

Papua New Guinea - history of a living, PNG apostle: In the years around 1997 Pastor Mwaosa Tutumla and some other PNG brothers held healing, miracle, evangelistic, revival crusades in PNG including various Trobriand Islands including Kitava Island. From these crusades many local residents heard the Word of the Lord, saw powerful, supernatural miracles from God including instant healings, and gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ. One of them was a man named Cedric Uriupa, a land holder, and one of the chief men on the island of Kitava. From these crusades three churches were established on the island of Kitiva. Pastor Mwaosa has been used by God to help establish many churches throughout PNG including six churches on the main Trobriand Island of Kiriwina; he has the undeniable fruits of an apostolic anointing and calling upon his life (1 Corinthians 9:1-2, 12:28, 2 Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 4:11).

When Pastor Mwaosa brought the revival to Kitava Island there was fierce, violent opposition. The United Church pastors and congregations were not 'born again' Christians, and they attacked the supernatural, Christian revival with weapons and physical violence. Cedric and his men fought back physically. One of Cedric's mighty men thrust a spear through a United Church man and this caused the United Church people to flee in terror. Since that time, Pastor Cedric has led the United Church pastors to the Lord Jesus. Once they became born again they became friends, and now there is peace.

In 2000, Pastor Mwaosa was invited and sponsored by RHEMA Australia to study at RHEMA Bible Training Centre, Australia by the National Australian Director of RHEMA and representative of Kenneth Hagin - Pastor Mike Moorhead. In 2001, after completing his study, Pastor Mwaosa was ordained as a minister of the clergy by RHEMA Australia and returned to PNG to continue with his national, apostolic work. He was excited at the prospect of training many of his emerging leaders through partnering with Pastor Mike's vision to establish a permanent RHEMA Bible Training Centre campus in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. A part-time RHEMA bible school in PNG was soon established with Mike Moorhead and Pastor Mwaosa as the Founding Directors. I few years later, Pastor Mike returned to the USA and his vision for a permanent RHEMA campus in Port Moresby is still yet to be fulfilled.

Pastor Mwaosa now has more than 100 churches in his RHEMA Family Churches PNG Inc. network throughout Papua New Guinea. This month I had the joy and privilege of being the first ever international minister to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ on the island of Kitava. I preached in the 150 member RHEMA Kitava Church. In the first meeting I taught on the need to have faith in the blood of Jesus for our eternal righteousness. More than 20 people responded to exercise their faith in Jesus' blood for the first time. I was greatly impressed by the fruit of this wonderful apostolic, nationally-led, ministry. Cedric Uriupa, the Pastor of RHEMA Kitava Church, told me that before Pastor Mwaosa brought the Jesus' revival to Kitava it was a very bad and dangerous place where people stole, fought and were unfriendly. You would not know it now. The society has been transformed by the love of Jesus. I ministered for five days with these lovely people, teaching about the importance of receiving the spiritual seeds of God's covenant promises through daily, continual meditation of God's eternal, spiritual Word. I felt led to give the church 20 copies of my meditation seed-books and I am confident they will diligently use the books to further increase the kingdom of God on Kitava Island. We ministered in prayer on the final evening and many fell under the power of the Holy Spirit, as the people's hearts are so sensitive and open to the Spirit of God.

This Christmas we remembered the blessing of the coming to the world of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we study God's Word we can see the details of what is means to receive the free gift of Jesus Christ. In this month's teaching we look at six different Greek words translated gift, or gifts, in the English, King James translation. With each Greek word we see a variety of gift-topics that belong to us in Christ Jesus. In other words, the topics listed below, with a bullet under each Greek word, are all gifts from God which belong to us in Christ Jesus.

To fully benefit from this month's teaching you will need to look up each Scriptural reference in your own bible. Particularly focus on the word 'gift', and check the Greek meaning which I have provided along with the subject of the gift. You will see that receiving Jesus includes many gifts and benefits such as: eternal life, righteousness, healing, baptism with the Holy Spirit, prosperity, safety, finance, knowledge, wisdom, spiritual ability, miracles and more. Ask yourself if you have you received all your gifts? Have you opened all your Christmas presents from God? If you haven't, meditate the spiritual seed, and faith and revelation will soon come to enable you to receive your gifts.

Greek: 'dorea' - a gratuity, gift (Strong's Dictionary)

• Eternal Life - Living water (John 4:10, 14, Romans 6:23, Hebrews 6:4)

• Righteousness, justification (Romans 5:15-18)

• Baptism with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues (Acts 2:38, 8:17, 20, 10:44-46, 11:15-17)

• Finance (2 Corinthians 9:5, 12-13, 15)

• 'Five-fold' ministry gifts. The five-fold ministry gifts are to benefit all the body of Christ, but the office of the gift is only borne by those to whom the Lord chooses (Ephesians 3:7, 4:7, 11). In other words, you cannot appoint yourself to be a genuine apostle, prophet, teacher, evangelist or pastor, only the Lord can appoint and gift you.

Greek: 'doron' - a present, sacrifice, gift, offering (ibid)

• Eternal and temporal salvation - healing, prosperity, safety, preservation, wholeness (Ephesians 2:8)

• Sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 5:1, 8:3-4, 9:9, 11:4)

Greek: 'doma' - a present, gift (ibid)

• Financial, material things (Philippians 4:14-18)

• Wisdom and all good things (James 1:5, 17)

• 'Five-fold' ministry gift (Ephesians 4:8)

Greek: 'charisma' - a (divine) gratuity, spiritual endowment, miraculous faculty, (free) gift (ibid)

• Spiritual gift (Romans 1:11, 1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:6, 8) The spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 are given as the Holy Spirit wills for a specific moment of ministry, and are not the permanent gifts of the person operating the gift (1 Corinthians 12:1, 4-11)

• Knowledge (1 Corinthians 1:4-5, 7, Romans 12:29)

• 'Five-fold' ministry gift (1 Timothy 4:14, 2 Timothy 1:6, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:28-31)

Greek: 'charis' - graciousness, diving influence upon the heart and its reflection in this life, benefit, favour, gift, liberality (ibid)

• Finance (2 Corinthians 8:2, 4, 9, 11-15, 20, 9:5)

Greek: 'merimos' - separation or distribution, gift (ibid)

• Signs, wonders and miracles. Signs, wonders and miracles are as the Holy Spirit wills (Hebrews 2:4)

When I study your Word and see the extensive list of gifts available to me I can see your great and detailed love for me. Thank you so much, my precious Lord.
