Greetings in the almighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I pray you are all well and experiencing the ‘shalom’ blessing of the Lord. I have just concluded a very successful ministry operation in Southern Malaysia. Listed below are some of the highlights:
- Impotent man walks in Labis! When prayed for he saw a white light come upon him. He arose and walked for the first time in many days.
- Demon cast out of an Indian man.
- Youth pledge allegiance of their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ in Senai and Segamat.
- Experiencing a powerful anointing when praying for people.
- Over 500 meditation books distributed into the churches.
- Preached and taught 25 times in Malaysia during August.

‘Our Relationship to the Law of Moses’
| It is very important to understand the purpose of the Law of Moses and our relationship to that law. Otherwise the New Covenant in Jesus Christ will not benefit us. The apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians about this very issue:
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace (Galatians 5:4).
When we seek righteousness from our own obedience or good works we are self justified and therefore deceive ourselves into thinking we don’t need Christ. In fact self righteous people are not really righteous, they are deluded and fallen from grace.
God’s grace includes His favour and power to assist us to walk in His Word. Because we all need the power and grace of the Lord (none of us are perfect, without sin), a correct understanding of law is vital.
Paul said he was: “touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless” yet he said I “do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (Philippians 3:6, 8-9).
Paul’s understanding of the gospel is one of glorying in Christ and not in self. Paul understood that the Law of Moses was our schoolmaster to bring us into Christ, that we might be justified by faith (Galatians 3:24). Now that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster (Galatians 3:25). We are no longer under the law! In fact we are become dead to the law by the body of Christ (Romans 7:4).
It is so important to know that as Christians we are dead, or separated from the law and its accusation (Colossians 2:14). Otherwise we will always feel condemned and judged because of our imperfection. We will never feel worthy to receive God’s rich inheritance if we think we are still under law.
So next time you read the Law of Moses in the Old Testament say: “Thank you Lord you sent Jesus, to fulfil the law (Matthew 5:17). Thank you Jesus is my righteousness by faith (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus took the curse of the law for me (Galatians 3:13) and has removed all its accusation (Ephesians 2:15). Thank you I am free from the condemnation of law. I am dead to the Law through Christ, and by faith in Christ I am now the righteousness of God.” | |
