| Dear partners and friends,
I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous Christmas/ New Year holiday period with family and friends. I pray the anointing of the Holy Spirit will continue to lead you into the place of trusting God’s exceeding great and precious promises, with all your heart! When our heart is fixed and centred on His Words of promise, His miraculous power will effortlessly, and continuously, flow into our lives giving us days of heaven upon earth. This is God’s will for our prosperity, healing and blessing.
2009 was another wonderful, and successful, year of ministry. We are successfully building up the body of Christ internationally through various media including: books, internet-video, internet-audio, and internet-written teaching, face to face teaching and preaching, personal prayer with the laying on of hands, personal counselling ministry, personal email communication, and monthly email teaching via partner letters. People have been born again into God’s eternal kingdom, baptised with the Holy Spirit, blessed financially, healed of demonic oppressions of sickness and disease, and restored in various ways to experience more of the shalom blessing of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In 2009, I preached forty eight times in seven different nations including: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Australia and an undisclosed nation. The format of the teaching and preaching included: leadership seminars, church meetings, and teaching in various fellowships. We distributed over 500 books in English and the Thai languages. Our YouTube channel, – AndrewJShreeve – now has thirty one short videos on the channel, and we have had over 3,700 video views, to date. Our website, www.andrewshreeve.org, now with audio messages in seven languages, and 100 short written teachings, has had over 2,300 unique visitors in 2009.
I would like to thank all our precious partners and friends who have given financially, prayed fervently, loved wholeheartedly, assisted technically and practically, and contributed in multiples of ways. We all belong to one spiritual body; and the ministry is a joint effort, where we all share in the eternal rewards. We are growing stronger, increasing in wisdom and influence, and are better positioned to strengthen the body of Christ than we were twelve months ago. Personally, I am excited at the prospects of expanding our international influence to bless more people. The Holy Spirit is our leader, and He will continue to guide this ministry forward;

| Teaching: The Real Meaning of Christmas

| Christmas, though not specifically mentioned in the bible, is fundamentally a traditional occasion of celebrating the remembrance of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In this teaching, I will list eight Scriptures which reveal the person of Jesus Christ. Following each Scripture will be a concise explanation. The real meaning of Christmas is when humanity remembers their creator, The Mighty God, being born as a male child.
1) And the Lord God said unto the serpent… I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; and it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:14-15
One purpose of Jesus coming to earth was to free humanity from the oppression of the devil by overwhelming, or bruising, his head. As the apostle Paul wrote, Jesus has delivered us from the power of darkness, which is the power of the devil (Colossians 1:13). The apostle also writes, we see Jesus… taste death for every man… forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same, that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:9, 14).
2) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23
The Virgin Mary brought forth a son whose name was Jesus. He is the promised seed of the woman mentioned in Genesis 3. Jesus is called, God with us.
3) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
The prophet Isaiah said, the name of the son would be The Mighty God. Jesus is The Mighty God in a human body.
4) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men… and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. John 1:1-4, 14
The Word was God. All things were made by the Word/ God. The Word/ God was made a human being, who was Jesus of Nazareth.
5) He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man… for I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him that sent me. John 3:13, 6:38
Jesus is the Son of man, who came down from heaven. The Son of man existed in heaven before He took on a human body, and was named Jesus.
6) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh. 1st Timothy 3:16
God appeared in human flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ.
7) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 1 John 5:20
Jesus Christ is God the Son. God the Son is the true God.
8) Jesus Christ… I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending… I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last… fear not; I am the first and the last. Revelation 1:5, 8, 11, 17
Jesus Christ existed at the beginning. He existed before the baby, Jesus of Nazareth, was born.
Conclusion: the Scriptures reveal to us that Jesus Christ existed in the beginning; that He created all things, He came from heaven, He took on a human body, He is God with us, The Mighty God, and He is the true God. This is the true meaning of Christmas, remembering when God, our creator, became a human being to set us free from the power of the devil, and sin (Romans 6:2).
Pray with me: “thank you Lord Jesus for descending to this earth and becoming a man, to free us from the power of the devil, and sin; and giving to us eternal life. I acknowledge you as The Son of man, the Son of God, The Mighty and true God, and my creator. I will always hold you in my heart as my saviour, master, and Lord; in Jesus Christ name, Amen.” |
